Celui‑ci se limite donc à une introduction générale qui débute avec les trois étalons de l’électrum archaïque. Il n’existe pas de textes de référence nous donnant les caractéristiques des étalons monétaires : seule l’étude métrologique des monnaies nous permet de reconstituer leur poids théorique. La géographie des trésors dessine des zones monétaires et met en relief l’utilisation parallèle d’un étalon local et d’un étalon commun par de nombreuses cités. |
