| Summary, etc. | RésuméL’article présente la consultation de thérapie familiale qui s’est ouverte dans l’unité de lutte contre la douleur de l’enfant de l’hôpital Trousseau en 2010, expérience qui se révèle tout à fait fructueuse. Les consultations familiales ne soignent pas directement le symptôme douloureux, mais permettent de diminuer les stress déclenchant les douleurs ou limitant les soins à l’enfant. L’imaginaire familial articule les différents enjeux thérapeutiques mis en jeu dans ces entretiens. Plusieurs familles ont ainsi pu sortir de l’impasse relationnelle et trouver des évolutions inattendues. |

| Summary, etc. | The child in pain and therapies involving the familyThis article presents the familial therapy consultation that was initiated in the pain management unit of the Trousseau Children’s Hospital in 2010. The experiment conducted there proved highly successful. Family consultations do not treat symptoms of pain but alleviate the stresses that trigger such suffering or reduce the need to intervene. The imaginary world within the family focuses the various therapeutic issues brought up during the interviews. A number of families were thus enabled to surmount the relational impasse and see unexpected improvements. |
