520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | An account is provided of family therapies around the issue of anorexia-bulimia. The fact of facing the trauma of the prospect of death when such an unbearable eventuality cannot be envisaged appears to form the common strand for all three families concerned by the study. Not seen so much as death as a thing in itself entity, but as a loss, a break in family bonds. In this clinical approach of anorectic and bulimic symptoms, the authors seek to point out an impossible incorporation of death through bereavement on account of those as first distorted faces of both attachment and separation. Such impossible psychic incorporation deprives the family of its very own body and calls up a corporeal symptomatology tied up with the incorporation (ingestion) of food. |
