Summary, etc. | RésuméL’enseignement/apprentissage des langues des signes par des entendants questionne la notion de distance des points de vue linguistique, culturel, anthropologique, historique et social. Il constitue ainsi un cas de figure exemplaire au sein d’une réflexion sur l’acquisition des langues étrangères. L’enseignement/apprentissage à distance des langues des signes ne fait qu’accentuer les difficultés vécues dans l’enseignement en classe de langue. L’usage des nouvelles technologies est une aide incontestable, mais il reste soumis à l’épreuve de la contrainte de la modalité visuelle dans toutes ses dimensions, en particulier le rôle du regard. Il ne suffit pas non plus, à lui seul, à répondre à la distance culturelle. La recherche dans ce domaine vise donc à définir les possibilités et les limites d’un tel enseignement. |

Summary, etc. | Teaching and learning of sign language by the hearing community raises questions about the concept of distance from linguistic, cultural, anthropological, historical and social viewpoints. And the case is even more particular when considering foreign language acquisition. Distance teaching and learning of sign language heightens the difficulties experienced in language classes. The use of new technology is undoubtedly helpful, but this still bears the constraint of sight in all its dimensions, in particular on the role of looking. Nor is it sufficient in itself to cope with cultural distance. Research in this field therefore aims to define the potential and the limits of teaching in this way. |
