| Summary, etc. | Le voyage d’Abraham Gölnitz, publié à Leyde en 1631, n’a pas été correctement daté avant les travaux de Léon Malavialle en 1908. En assignant sa chronologie exacte au périple (du 11 mai 1624 au 15 juin 1626), il devient possible d’apprécier la précision du récit, jalonné de références à l’histoire des Réformés français. En relation avec les élites cultivées de la cour du duc Jean-Christian de Legnica-Brzeg, en Silésie, Gölnitz fit de son livre une proposition pour un voyage de formation destiné à ses fils, Georges (20 ans) et Louis (15 ans). Il obtint ce résultat en ajoutant deux événements postérieurs à sa visite en France : le siège de La Rochelle (1628) et l’assassinat du gouverneur d’Orange (1630), qui s’avèrent être des références à la culture eschatologique du duc. Le rappel du contexte politique et culturel silésien du début de la guerre de Trente Ans permet de révéler ce lien. |

| Summary, etc. | Abraham Gölnitz’s account of his voyage, published in Leyden in 1631, was not correctly dated until 1908, in the works of Léon Malavialle. By assigning an exact chronology to Gölnitz’s trek (from May 11, 1624 to June 15, 1626), it becomes possible to appreciate the precision of the tale, punctuated with references to the history of French reformists. In relation with the learned elites of the court of Duke Jean-Christian of Legnica-Brzeg, in Silesia, Gölnitz made his book into a proposal for an educational voyage for his sons Georges (twenty years of age) and Louis (fifteen). He achieved this by adding two events that occurred after his visit to France: the siege of La Rochelle (1628) and the assassination of the Prince of Orange (1630), which, as we show, are references to the Duke’s eschatological culture. This connection is revealed by recalling the political and cultural context of Silesia at the beginning of the Thirty Years War. |
