520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Despite a long history of holding elections, Nigeria still maintains a tenuous relationship with the democratic process. The current regime’s fourth elections took place just one year after the death in office of President Yar’Adua, and they should be placed in context in order to assess the main issues around it. The author addresses questions as regards the electoral campaign using the example of the Action Congress of Nigeria, which became the leading opposition party in a country that has not always seen political change via the ballot box. The author presents an initial analysis of the election results to understand the changes and continuities the election brought about.
