520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. During the excavations of the southeastern necropolis in Cyme (Aeolis) conducted by the Italian Archaeological Mission in 2007, a grave marker missing its left portion was discovered. Careful study has allowed identification of the missing portion with the fragment of a marker found at the site in the 1950s or ’60s. Reunited, the grave marker is one of the largest and most complex of the Hellenistic period found in Asia Minor. Its originality lies in the number of persons represented (a woman, two men and five servants) and in the abundance of iconographic elements related to the representation of their status and funerary monuments in general.
