Summary, etc. "The homoparental family is a new form of family structure. It constitutes a new and strange object that appears on the social scene. The question is how will it be domesticated (Moscovici 1976)? This paper attempts to identify the social representation of the homoparental family that will emerge. Two exploratory studies aim to show that the homoparental family is made more familiar and understandable by using the notion of “step-family with the sex of the homosexual couple serving to make the family. Firstly, it appears that the social representation of the homoparental family aligns with several groups of meaning. Secondly, it seems that a couple is and is not a stepfamily; it is the notion that allows the materialization and the possible understanding of homoparental families. Furthermore, according to some forms of homoparental families, women are more acceptable than men."
