Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | Does the change in the way modern society considers homosexuality bring with it a shift in our psychoanalytical conceptions of homosexuality? The author addresses this question in light of clinical studies on same-sex parenthood and proceeds to raise another related issue: does the study of same-sex parenthood question psychoanalytical conceptions of the family? Clinical research does not call into question the theoretical and clinical basis of psychoanalysis but rather challenges what these theoretical conceptions of homosexuality and the family owe to the social norms of a given era. The proposed case study shows how, in the homosexual couple, sexual difference can be at work, how oedipal issues can be revived by the access to parenthood, and how psychic bisexuality underlies the construction of the relationship between the couple and the child. |
