| Summary, etc. | To live in a couple and remain oneself, there is a need for a gap between partners. Modern-day life, where the third party is interiorised little or not at all, allows couples to live their lives according to different social situations, varying over time. Among these is non-cohabitation. A clinical example shows the stages the partners in a young couple went through during therapy, from life in a group to non-cohabitation. When they split up, it is not to separate, but to experiment a conjugal relationship that can lead them to a psychological couple in which each person can feel that they exist. The article shows how these stages enabled them to deepen and transform their relationship. |
