520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The author introduces the subject with quotes from patients reflecting feelings of betrayal, feelings which herald a break-up with the couple or the group. This sometimes necessary violence allows one to escape, more or less consciously, from an alienating denial pact, and to the negative of transmission, therefore enabling the person to become a subject. At other times, betrayal is an attack on thinking, on the very process of becoming a subject (or becoming an individual being). The author talks about a family where betrayal is the main issue in the transference-counter-transference relationships. The feeling of betrayal shown by the father when he stopped therapy was also felt by the therapist. Through the example of this treatment, containing the odd acting-outs, the author carries on with her “therapeutic romance”, trying to analyze how these “acting-outs” could express this paradox: “Being together kills us, being apart is fatal.”
