Summary, etc. ‪The question of an “inclusive society”, particularly in the case of people with mental disabilities, remains a live issue. In order to work on certain aspects of this question, we have implemented and studied a cooperative engineering process that brings together professionals, a researcher and people with disabilities in an establishment and service of assistance through work (ESAT) in the medico-social sector. In this article, based on two empirical examples, we show the specificity of such a cooperative mechanism, a research mechanism that is part of the general paradigm of design-based research.‪
