| Summary, etc. | RésuméDepuis plus d’une dizaine d’années s’est développée dans le monde académique anglophone une nouvelle branche de la political ecology qui étudie particulièrement la question de l’eau en ville : la radical political ecology autour d’Erik Swyngedouw et ses élèves. Le but de cet article est, dans un premier temps, de faire un panorama des concepts utilisés par ce courant encore peu connu en France et, dans un deuxième temps, de voir à quoi ils peuvent servir dans l’étude d’un réseau d’adduction d’eau, en l’occurrence Khartoum. Ou plus exactement d’étudier ce qu’ils apportent de différent par rapport aux approches plus connues des lecteurs français. |

| Summary, etc. | Radical political ecology, a new branch of political ecology focusing on the issue of water in cities, has gained momentum over the last 15 years in English-language academia ; created by Erik Swyngedouw, it has spread through the work of his students. This article begins by laying out this school’s concepts, before demonstrating the approach’s usefulness in the case study of Khartoum’s water supply system. More specifically, we will examine how this approach differs from those with whom the French readership is more familiar. |
