| Summary, etc. | Based on a situation borrowed from people on the “spectrum,” some constraints that longitudinal research should respect are suggested. Appreciating a change indeed requires understanding its content, defining its time window of appearance, drawing its evolutionary trajectories, and describing its mechanisms. But it will also be suggested to propose a theory of the phenomenon studied which integrates the changes, to adopt an experimental design adapted to the latter, to use relevant indicators and a matching between statistical treatment and theoretical model. |
