Summary, etc. The theory of multiple intelligences (MI), put forward by Gardner, is one of the most talked about approaches to intelligence. The weakness of its theoretical and empirical foundations, however, has contributed to it being considered nothing more than a myth. This article consists of two parts. In the first part, we briefly outline the theory underpinning MI theory. In the second part, we put forward ten elements corroborating the argument that this theory is a myth.
