520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Many migrant families come from countries with a recent history of war and killing. In order to protect themselves and/or their children, many parents are reluctant to speak about their traumatic memories. In one way or another, their children bear the mark of the trauma, either as victims or because ghosts of the past resurface in their pathology. Clinicians have to be attentive to this aspect of children’s native culture, especially if the current society has been unable to establish a framework for such memories.
