520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. From a case study which relates the meeting between the judge for children and people subject to the court From different origins, this article presents the cultural intermediation hearing put in place by two judges of the children’s court, in the course of their child protection duties, when they have to treat complex cases of foreign families. It is also about showing the effectiveness of respecting the due hearing of both parties and the rights of the defence in an intercultural context. The basic principle is that the cultural intermediation hearing, though not defined by law, is a new practice which allows for strict respect of the French judicial process.
