520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. During in-patient hospitalization, the separation of the adolescent and his family exacerbates the fantasies of psychic and physical deterioration of the body of the mother (or her substitute) and the child. Frequently these fantasies occur concurrently in the minds of mother and hospitalized adolescent. Denial by proof during hospitalization of fantasies of physical and psychic destruction of the mother, father and child is a major therapeutic event. This therapeutic event is given to be thought of by each family member. In intersubjectivity the work on representation, by the mother (or her substitute), of experiences and fantasies felt during this real separation, can contribute especially to a renewal of the elaboration by the adolescent of his own drives and traumatic history.
