Summary, etc. Can we speak today of a sociology of architecture? This article argues that a sociology of architecture linking actors, practice and production is possible today. This can be achieved by overcoming the deadlocks installed since the arrival of humanities and social sciences into architectural higher education. Indeed, the critical stance of the 1970’s had prompted research to focus on two directions: an approach from of the uses of habitation and architecture, or an analysis of the architectural profession. Research conducted since the 1980’s, taking into account the renewal of French architecture and its media coverage, lay the groundwork for a new sociology of architecture. It is this last that we have tried to define from a “constructivist” point of view.
