| Summary, etc. | Since the modernization and redefinition of the role of the Belgian public employment services, a new cohort of job search assistance professionals has emerged alongside the public players already active, representing a turning point in the support market. Based on an empirical study of two selection and placement agencies, this article examines the challenges of reconfiguring the work of private operators. Although their businesses differ, these two support systems share the same goal: to select, position, and support candidates seeking career opportunities. As part of a sociological approach oriented toward public action, this article nevertheless aims to show that these systems contribute more to the profiling of career paths rather than positioning candidates on the job market, thus constituting a new form of intermediation. |
