520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. For Sigmund Freud, the image of the father was intrinsically tied to an indispensable process of subjectification. Whether it is via the Urvater in the Judeo-Christian culture, via a real father who contributes to the development of his own child, or via the figure of “the great prehistoric other” that has left its imprint on intrapsychic life, the image of the father can either facilitate or nullify the process of individuation depending on whether one remains in a state of voluntary servitude and culpability or one liberates oneself of imposed representations to access subjectivization.
