Summary, etc. | The analytic experience lies in the articulation of the subject and the whole. This articulation was formulated by Lacan as “the moment at which the subject’s satisfaction is achievable in the satisfaction of all.” How does it operate? Another sentence provides some clue as to the answer: “Of all the undertakings that have been proposed in this century, the psychoanalyst’s is perhaps the loftiest, because it mediates in our time between the care-ridden man and the subject of absolute knowledge.” The cure welcomes the care-ridden man in search of the absolute knowledge promised to him as a panacea by globalization. Transference will enlighten him provided that the desire of the analyst—not his desire nor that of his profession—is mobilized. Psychoanalysis is therefore dependent on the form of social bond that is contemporary with it. Under what conditions will the new analysand make the crazy bet to perpetuate the experience? Will the analytic discourse also continue as an artificial lung? |
