Summary, etc. This paper looks at citizens’ definition of health priorities in a region considered a medical desert (Centre-Val de Loire). It is based on the lexicometric analysis of responses to an open-ended question. First, it shows that the inhabitants of this region are concerned about the development of medical deserts and fear longer waiting times for consultations with a practitioner. It then highlights the importance of health democracy in defining health priorities. The lexicometric analysis points to three distinct narratives. The first, which came only from health professionals, emphasizes the need to improve care coordination. The second aims to prioritize the fight against medical deserts, and the third bemoans the increase in waiting times for consultations with certain medical specialists.
