Summary, etc. | Starting from the metaphor: “Self-disclosure is an action through which that which is more or less in the shadow is brought more or less into the light”, the author takes as a hypothesis that in every relationship there is some self-disclosure and it is very unique and special in the therapeutic relationship. In reference to Buber, he invites Gestalt therapists to open themselves to the questions which may arise during a dialogical relationship by placing themselves successively on the side of the client, on the side of the Gestalt therapist, and finally within the I-Thou relationship. He then presents an observation sheet based on different authors who address the question of self-disclosure and existentialism. |
