| Summary, etc. | The author demonstrates how Gestalt Therapy may be viewed not only as a rupture with psychoanalysis, but also as its fulfillment. To support his proposition, the author examines the evolution of several notions within the analytical current of thought: the posture of the analyst who is moving towards more equality with the patient; the place given to traumatic experience that may waver between reality and fantasy; transference, which moves from infantile reproduction to present-day creation; and finally, the progressive acceptance of the reality of contact and interaction within its theory. By deliberately placing the reality of relationships at the heart of the therapeutic process, Gestalt continues the evolutionary process that has already begun. |
