Summary, etc. | Trauma may be regarded as an immobilization of the nervous system in response to a threat. When trauma becomes traumatism, EMDR, via bilateral brain stimulation may be a complimentary therapeutic tool. In this paper, the author proposes to consider trauma from the Gestalt perspective and, when combined with EMDR (supported by Affective Neuroscience), as an approach that is both complementary and coherent. A clinical vignette shows the relevance of this approach when used cautiously in the progression of therapy. |
