Summary, etc. The national strategy to combat poverty and promote access to employment includes a focus on guaranteeing the fundamental rights of children, particularly those living in extreme poverty, on the streets or in shantytowns. One of the actions in this area, mixed patrols in child protection, is based on a Parisian experiment: family patrols. However, the implementation of this action in the Hérault department raises a number of questions, among them: How can we reconcile child protection measures, whether preventive or protective, with common law (particularly regarding housing) and also with the various registers of the fundamental rights of the child? This article looks at this question in relation to the socio-educational assessment measure, one of the gateways to the child protection system.
