520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Insee’s publication of death records offers new possibilities for the research of centenarians over a period of more than thirty years. Among them, the author tries to find large groups of siblings with more than three centenarians by processing the data to extract short lists for genealogical analysis. The choice of the selection criteria is detailed as well as the different limits of the method. In a first batch extracted from groupings of four centenarians bearing the same surname, several groups of three or four centenarian siblings were found. The Lavergne case reveals an extraordinary family of twelve children, six of whom passed away at over a hundred years old. Traces of longevity are searched for among their close ancestors. The brief validation method established for the current cases is made more rigorous to prove the veracity, the analyzed filiation, and the centenarian status. In-depth research is conducted into the files of the departmental archives of Vienne. An outline of the story of their lives is formed through certificates, and the family’s testimonies will bring further color to this story. The event’s rarity is discussed and this unique case in France is compared to that of a few families that have received media attention in other countries.
