| Summary, etc. | La lutte contre la maltraitance envers les personnes âgées a commencé à se développer en Suisse il y a une vingtaine d’années. Bien que les mesures spécifiques restent rares et soient portées essentiellement par le domaine associatif, de nombreux programmes et plans d’actions contribuent indirectement à la prévention. Cet article présente un aperçu général du dispositif actuel de lutte contre la maltraitance envers les aînés en Suisse et propose une perspective critique sur ses forces et ses lacunes. Il se base sur l’analyse de différents documents (rapports gouvernementaux, rapports de recherche, articles scientifiques, articles professionnels, textes de lois, etc.). L’analyse met en évidence la richesse et la diversité du dispositif suisse, mais également les défis liés au fédéralisme et au plurilinguisme. Elle souligne en particulier les disparités importantes entre les cantons et les régions linguistiques, le manque de collaboration entre réseaux professionnels en lien avec les domaines du vieillissement et des violences domestiques, l’inadéquation des ressources d’aide et de soutien aux besoins des victimes et des auteurs de violences âgés, ainsi que le manque de visibilité et de cohérence des mesures actuelles de prévention et de lutte contre la maltraitance envers les personnes âgées. Elle relève finalement la reconnaissance récente accordée à la problématique par la Confédération suisse. |

| Summary, etc. | Switzerland began to address the problem of elder abuse about twenty years ago. There are now many programs and action plans that contribute indirectly to preventing this type of abuse, but specific measures remain rare and are found mainly in the non-profit sector. This article presents a general overview of the current Swiss system for tackling elder abuse and offers a critical perspective on its strengths and weaknesses. It is based on an analysis of various documents (government and research reports, scientific and professional articles, legal texts, etc.) that highlights the richness and diversity of the Swiss system, but also the challenges associated with federalism and multilingualism. In particular, it underlines the significant disparities among the cantons and linguistic regions, the lack of collaboration among professional networks in the fields of older adult care and support and domestic violence, and the inadequacy of care and support resources to meet the needs of victims and perpetrators of elder abuse, as well as the lack of visibility and coherence of current measures to prevent and tackle elder abuse. Finally, it points out the recent recognition of the problem by the Swiss federal government. |
