Summary, etc. The Chinese economic growth and the risks on environment: a difficult awakening In March 2007, during his general politics speech at the Parliament opening session, the Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao was the link between the economic growth mode that China is undergoing today and the ecological crisis reaching the country. Felt for a while as an unavoidable consequence of development, the environmental problems are now considered as a menace for growth itself. From deforestation and rarity of water resources to air, rivers and soils pollution, all indicators have gone over the alert limit. Moreover the soaring crisis of China’s energy consumption and its second world place in emitting greenhouse effect gas makes this situation a worldwide concern. To fight against these phenomena, a legal arsenal and an educational politics have been, little by little, implemented which can contribute to lessen, but not so much, the multiple effects of the crisis.
