Summary, etc. 1970-2010 : 40 years of feminist movement. Hérodote has chosen to celebrate this anniversary, which one can find surprising for one can wonder how geopolitics - analyzing rivalries of power upon territories - can be useful to understand the complexities of male domination throughout the world. The most geopolitical type of male domination over women is prostitution networks. Nowadays, we even talk about women trade, for prostitution can be compared with slave trade by some aspects. Moreover, radical forms of patriarchy lead to a position of inferiority for a majority of women, which in turns encourages the return of a more rigoristic form of Islam. Yet how can we explain such a development in societies where patriarchy has been very weakened and where women and men have the same rights according to the law ? For Hérodote, wearing the veil in a secular country like France is more of a political act than a religious act. With that understanding, these issues can be anayzed through a geopolitical approach.
