| Summary, etc. | Ce quatrième volume de Transversales est le quatrième volet des travaux de spécialistes des études sur le dix-huitième siècle français et britannique. Dans le cadre du projet de la Maison des Sciences Humaines de Bretagne (MSHB) « La sociabilité en France et en Grande-Bretagne au Siècle des Lumières : l'émergence d'un nouveau modèle de société », ces chercheurs tentent de redéfinir les modes opératoires de la sociabilité pour chacune des deux nations, à partir de sources célèbres ou méconnues. Ils s'interrogent sur la réalité de la supériorité du modèle français de sociabilité. La tonalité des trois premiers volumes reflétait beaucoup les conclusions de Georg Simmel qui fait de la sociabilité « la forme ludique de la socialisation » et un « symbole de vie ». Le présent volume s'attache à différentes expressions qui montrent une forme de crise de cette sociabilité émergente. This volume is the fourth in the Transversales series published by a group of researchers of different nationalities, with the support of the Maison des Sciences Humaines de Bretagne (MSHB), on the topic of sociability in France and Britain during the Enlightenment. The research focuses on the extent to which a new model of sociability emerged in these nations during this period, and the similarities and differences between the ways this model developed on each side of the Channel. While the first three volumes drew much of their inspiration from Georg Simmel's views of sociability as ?the playful form of socialization? and a ?symbol of life?, the present volume highlights various accounts of the crisis that an emerging sociability was undergoing. |
