520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The advent of Translation Studies in the 1970s and their subsequent success have given translation theory (be it called traductologie, Übersetzungswissenschaft, traduttologia, perevodovedenie, etc.) the international status of a major discipline in the field of social sciences. However, it would be wrong to think that the “translation turn” took place at the end of the 20th Century. It actually occurred in romantic Germany in the previous century. On the other hand, translation can take so many forms, a process which will only accelerate with globalization, that it should not be a matter for the sole concern of translation specialists. It must be approached from a broader interdisciplinary perspective.
