520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The “Labornet network” was created in California in 1991 by union organisers, in a bid to revitalise the labor movement. It has now spread to about ten industrialised countries in North America, Europe and Asia. The Japanese branch, “Labornet Japan,” was established in 2001 with the help of Korean activists. Through a series of annual events such as the “Labor Fiesta” or the “Union, Yes!” campaign and through videos broadcast on “Union-Tube,” the Labornet Japan network has succeeded in developing a new form of militancy that cuts across conventional political and unionist divisions. Despite the increasing prevalence of short-term work contracts, it is attracting many young people to collective action.
