| Summary, etc. | Bank loans and informal funding by small financial cooperatives called "tontines" are the main financing sources of innovation in Small and Medium Sized businesses (SMEs). The financing constraints facing those small businesses result from their reliance to these two funding systems. However, other funding procedures exist that could help SMEs to achieve the financing of their innovation projects.
