Summary, etc. Exposure to domestic violence can potentially cause damage, the effects of which endure over time. What is at issue is indeed a context of ill-treatment, even though the children concerned are not physically abused in a direct way. Thus, children exposed to domestic violence are not merely witnesses; they are also victims. The varied and multiple clinical consequences can be present even when the violent context has come to an end, continuing for months or even years. These effects manifest themselves in a direct as well as in an indirect fashion in children—whose transformation we can observe through a broad range of symptoms—by means of modifications in their bonds with each of their parents. The article elaborates on the problems related to this violence by highlighting, on one hand, the multiple potential repercussions on children, their understanding on a psychopathological level, and, on the other hand, some aspects of therapeutic support that prove to be relevant. Today, it remains crucial that we remind ourselves of the extent to which there is good reason to intervene as early as possible in order to reduce the traumatic impact. Also, let us underline the fact that we can sometimes be blinded by a form of fascination that is comprised of personal interests and fears, which bewilders us to the point of preventing any action that would ideally be conceived by a group of individuals.
