Summary, etc. | In this paper we focus on the transition between school and employment of young men and women with a North African background. Our empirical data is grounded on the French 2001 Cereq survey « Generation 98 ». Our aim is to try to understand the gender relationship on the labour market, once the initial training is over. More precisely, our frame of reference tries to underline the gender inequalities within a social context where second generation youths are very often labelled as children of the most precarious part of the working class and, furthermore, face racial discrimination. |
