Summary, etc. | Use and abuse of the past is now involved in the justification of power and in particular of market power, to promote populations control. In its darkerest version, they assign to individuals the role of “victims” of history. These expect in return an impossible repair of the past, which puts them in the position of histories playthings. Nevertheless, based on this past, they should work opening potentials in order to build a possible alternative future. From this point of view, the historicizing of capitalism and globalization would be an assist to overthrow the regime of historicity which imposes itself on us in the present. As formulated, the challenge calls for rediscovering the strength of a historical dynamic that is not closed and that must nurture the promise of dawn. |
