Summary, etc. This article explores the concept of themata and topic grounds within the frame of the theory in which they were defined. Its aim is twofold: a) demonstrate that these concepts have many features in common and b) explain the importance of establishing the connection between them. From the social psychology perspective, the articulation thêmata-topic ground is particularly important since it offers the key to understand the link between the representational and the lexical levels. An example is given to illustrate this link.
