Summary, etc. | Organizational or managerial innovations typically fall outside the scope of organizations’ research and development budgets. Yet they are important levers for business performance. They have the benefit of stimulating and developing employees’ sense of initiative and creativity. But over and above the wide variety of management styles out there, the question of managerial innovation and its impact on corporate financial and social performance remains largely unexplored. This is a cross-cutting issue that needs to be addressed from different angles. Factoring in the key economic, social, and political dimensions can also serve to enrich the debate and refine our understanding about the role of organizational innovations.
