Summary, etc. Transgender people may use the healthcare system for ordinary or routine care, and potentially also for their transition journey. However, they face a great deal of discrimination within the healthcare system, despite their exposure to numerous risk factors (socioeconomic vulnerability, STIs, HIV, assault, depression, etc.), which will be outlined in this first article. The particular nature of medical care and the specific psychosocial risks associated with this population are poorly understood by healthcare providers, and a lack of training on trans health during medical studies contributes to the persistence of stereotypes and discrimination. These elements will be described in part two. Finally, we will provide a summary highlighting the main areas for following up primary outpatient care.
