Summary, etc. Therapeutic patient education (TPE) has been included in the French Public Health Code since 2009 along with specifications regarding the training required to practice it. The inclusion of TPE training in the medical curriculum was proposed as far back as 2009 by the French High Council of Public Health (HCSP) as well as by the French Academy of Medicine (ANM). However, the University of Toulouse, which provides forty hours of training on the topic as part of its diploma of specialized studies in primary care, was the only establishment to come up in our bibliographical research. In Bordeaux, students benefit from four awareness-building days on topics related to therapeutic patient education, but this training has not been evaluated.
