| Summary, etc. | Within Fair Trade, labelled chains are often opposed to specialized chains. The former have been the subject of criticism for a number of years. On the basis of a set of ethical criteria, we argue that these criticisms are a bit extreme. They overlook the origin of labelled chains. They are above all forged on a comparison with specialized chains, while these two types of chain are designed with very different objectives. |
