Summary, etc. | Starting from the observation that the autonomous initiative of citizens undertaking solidarity or ecological projects constitutes a new form of political commitment and participation, this article compares the practices of two associations in supporting these dynamics. Based on a qualitative analysis of their stances, the objectives pursued, and the resources made available, it reveals two approaches to citizens’ initiatives: one steeped in market and managerial logic, which puts the emphasis on the growth and performance of projects; the other marked by solidarity and popular, anti-oppressive, and peer-to-peer education, concerned with unlocking the creative potential of individuals. The rationalities underlying them then determine the model of society that these associations contribute to building. This analysis provides input for thought and debate on the evolution of social transformation strategies. |
