Summary, etc. Beyond diagnostic investigations pertaining to hormonal-surgical treatment, little research in projective psychology on transsexualism has addressed the question of sexual identifications in relation to psychic bisexuality and passivity, despite the fact that these issues seem to be at the core of this particular clinical field. Our research, which is based on the French interpretation of the tat, tests the relevance of showing both the bm card and the gf card – corresponding to the biological sex and to the sex to which the person claims to belong – to four young women and four young men seeking a sex change. We observe great psychic frailty for the most part of the subjects, and noticeable wavering of female identifications, which weaken their ability to operate adequate subject-object distinction, as passivation and castration are woven into the female figures. However, the masculine identifications of the women seeking an anatomical sex change seem to allow them a relatively freer management of their identifications, with less destructiveness linked to passivity and the possibility for representations of supportive relationships.
