520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Russia and China have historically had a distrustful relationship. The two countries have been drawing closer over the last half-century. Shortly before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, they reaffirmed their “friendship without limits” and, in March 2023, Xi Jinping went to Moscow to show his support for Vladimir Putin. The relationship between the two men has become asymmetrical: Russia, weakened by war and sanctions, is on the way to becoming a vassal state.
