| Summary, etc. | This paper asks if it is possible to submit philosophy to a set of standard approaches in sociology while also taking its specificity into account. Can we escape from having to choose between externalist reductionism and renunciation to discuss what being internal means? To what extent would a sociological practice capable of thwarting such an alternative be of any interest to philosophers? To answer these questions, three points are investigated using examples: first, the (historical) sociology of text interpretations; second, the sociological way to address the question of the unity and consistency of a work, traditionally handled by authors; and third, the relationship between social and theoretical classifications. |
