Summary, etc. Algerian flora is rich in medicinal plants that are used locally to treat various sicknesses and diseases. Ridolfia segetum is one such plant, found in the southwestern region of the country, specifically the Saoura region of Bechar. The essential oil of Ridolfia segetum seeds was extracted using hydro-distillation and analyzed using chromatography and mass spectrometry (CG/MS). The results showed that the most significant components are carvone (69.9%) and apiole (12.41%) as the primary products, followed by dihydrocarvone (6.66%), limonene (5.62%), and traces of perillaldehyde, dihydrocarveol, linalool, p-cymene, and β-pinene. Additional characteristics of the essential oil of Ridolfia segetum seeds are also discussed at the end of this paper.
