Summary, etc. | One family’s migratory experience raises the theological challenge of constructing a feminist subjectivity in migration. Jeremiah 29 and 32 also serve as inspiration for a reflection based on “dangerous memories.” What does “Facing North” really mean, then “Returning South” in terms of the ecology of migration? These considerations force us to challenge some of theology’s “monological habits” from the angle of “figuration” advocated by Rosi Braidotti, an interesting writer who nevertheless comes under fire over the too-often evaded question of the “colonial wound.” The Cuban theologian Michelle A. Gonzalez poses pertinent questions on redemption and suffering, the ethical implications of feminist theology, and the construction of gender. The trinitarian doctrine must be reconsidered along these lines, working toward a God who knows no borders. |
