Summary, etc. | People with disabilities demand full participation in society. Taking an active part in the leadership of communities thus becomes a challenge for disability theologies. In this essay, we will consider how disability studies have enabled the development of a way of thinking that is genuinely concerned with the question of disability. Disability theologians go so far as to propose the image of a “Disabled God” and do not hesitate to assert that in a radically inclusive afterlife, all will be welcome, with or without impairments. Some of these theologians do not hesitate to go beyond the paradigm of inclusion to demand more leadership for people with disabilities, which they consider to be crucial for a right and proper theological understanding. |
